Standard Measurements

NER offers a wide range of standard measurement services, including permeability, ultrasonic velocities, complex electrical impedance, and coupled measurements. These measurements help in understanding the geomechanical and petrophysical properties of rock samples.

Standard Measurement Services

Permeability

NER uses unique measurement techniques to measure fluid permeability at in situ conditions. The method involves controlling a complex transient in pore pressure and monitoring the response.

Ultrasonic Velocities

Measurements of compressional and shear wave velocities are performed as a function of stress, pore fluid pressure, and temperature.  These measurements help in understanding the elastic properties of rocks.

Complex Electrical Impedance:

Resistivity is measured as a function of frequency, stress, and temperature using two and four electrode techniques. NER’s ZMeter impedance analysis is used for true four electrode measurements.
